ABOUT THE COMPANY
An international automobile concern Iveco (Industrial Vehicles Corporation) is in a Fiat Group of Companies and is engaged in one of the leading directions of activity of Italian holding company.
Since 1978, the concern IVECO started the production of the lightweight truck of a Daily Series, which has quickly gained a wide recognition. The production of a series of the heavy trucks TurboStar is launched in the 80s of XX century. Their greatest advantages were comfortable cabin, improved suspension and new engines of 330 and 420 hp. In 1986 the concern was joined by the British subsidiary of Ford and by the Italian manufacturer of dump-trucks Astra. And finally, two more stars “fall” to Iveco’s feet – Spanish manufacturer of trucks and buses Pegaso in 1990 and the British truck manufacturer Seddon Atkinson Group in 1991. Purchase of these companies has made concern Iveco the fifth largest company in the global truck market. In the 90s of XX century a new big series of large IVECO vehicles – the family of Euro – was launched. It covered a range of load capacity from 6 tons to the legally accepted limit. This family was represented by heavy trucks EuroTech and EuroStar, and also the average-tonnage truck EuroCargo. In 1992 and 1993 the models EuroCargo and EuroTech were alternately nominated and recognized as the winners in the competition “The Truck of the Year”. For the first time during 17 years a prestigious award for two consecutive years was given to one and the same company. The production of a new heavy truck of a EuroTrakker series started closer to the middle of the 90s. The production of cars of a EuroTech series started in 1998; they were equipped with new 7.8-litre diesel engine “Cursor 8” having a variable geometry of turbo charging (VGT). And in 1999 series EuroTech and EuroStar were launched into production, they were equipped with engines “Cursor 10” of 10.3 litres volume and the capacities 287 kW (390 hp) and 316 kW (430 hp). Trucks of these series equipped with new engines, have demonstrated the record indicators of efficiency. Fuel consumption per 100 kilometres for cars with gross weight of 40 tons was 27 litres. The same year a series of light trucks Iveco Daily has also been improved, which was estimated in 2000 at an international auto-motor-show in Amsterdam. Iveco Daily vehicle was awarded the prestigious title of “The Van of the Year”. Noticeable event of 2003 for IVECO Concern was bringing a new series of heavy trucks Iveco Stralis to the market, its flagship – Stralis AS (Active Space) has been recognized as “The Truck of the Year 2003”. | Undeniable advantages of IVECO production is its relatively low price at a level of quality that is not inferior to competitors, as well as a wide assortment of produced equipment – from 3.5 to 85 tons. In January 2004 the company started implementing Europroject, which was aimed that the centre of any activity of the IVECO company is the Customer: beginning from design development, up to manufacturing, beginning from a system of organization and management, up to sales, maintenance of a global network of production facilities.
